An Introduction to the Suzuki Method
Every Child Can! is an introduction to Dr. Suzuki's philosophy and its application to Suzuki education. This new six-hour course is open to parents, teachers, prospective teachers and others interested in finding out more about Dr. Suzuki and his method of Talent Education. The course serves as the first required course in the Suzuki Association of the Americas' Teacher Development Program. In addition to exploring the elements of the Suzuki approach and its goals, it includes an introduction to learning styles, the history and development of Suzuki education, the role of parents in the Suzuki education process, and the importance of Suzuki pedagogical training, as well as an overview of the SAA's role in supporting teachers and parents. The ECC course includes video materials and SAA-developed written materials that will be useful as reference materials for later study. The course is not instrument specific and does not require a video audition tape.
To enroll, you must be a high school graduate, or within six months of graduation. Auditor status is not available. Course participants are required to attend the full six hours of the class. At the end of the course, the Trainer will sign each person' prerequisite verification form, which will be kept by the participant and sent in when the participant signs up for a Book 1 course. You may begin instrument specific Book 1 training immediately following completion of the Every Child Can! course.
